You’ll start in Edam, cycling past merchant houses from days gone by. Here, from the terrace of “De Fortuna,” you can still watch the boats pass under one of the oldest bridges, manually operated by the harbor master. Continue along the Markermeer; there’s always something to see—beautiful nature, the boats, and of course the many birds. You’ll then cycle through Oosthuizen, founded in 1292; take a look inside their Grote Kerk from 1511, and continue on to the village of Middelie. A small village with about 720 residents. And so you cycle back to the starting point in Edam.
