Cycle route "Schoorlse Duinen" offers a magnificent view over the North Sea, but also shows the differences between Schoorl, Bergen and Bergen aan Zee and leads through a vast landscape of Petten fields, dunes and forests. This tour shows you how forest turns into beautifully rolling polders to arrive in Alkmaar from there. This is the tourist attraction of North Holland! The route starts through the beautiful forest area of Schoorldam so through the beautiful dune area. In Bergen aan Zee, you arrive at the beach enjoying the eternal thunder of the sea. The landscape slowly changes and you enter the dune area. Continue through the polder to the beautiful old town of Alkmaar. Cycle past the pretty courtyards and beautiful canals. On the way, you will pass several windmills, in particular "Molen van Piet". The Piet family has lived here since 1884. You leave the city and cycle through the polder via the bulb fields to the Noord Hollands Duinreservaat, the surroundings becoming greener and denser.
